Sometime around 4:30PM-5:20PM yesterday - April 20, 2005 - my father Wiiliam Poy () passed away.  He was 96 years old.  The good thing is he passed away peacefully as he wasn't able to speak or respond as normal due to Alzheimer's disease so he was sleeping and snoring in a rocking chair four feet from myself and my mom.  I'm still at a loss as I have no idea what to do since after told that he was dead on arrival when my mom and I carried and wheelchaired him to the hospital 1 block away, we were next to him for the next 4 hours and ended up leaving at 9:00PM as the nurse finally put the sheets over his head.  Still do not know the exact cause of death.

Funeral arrangements is as follows:

Visit - Friday April 29, 2005 6:00PM-7:00PM

Funeral - Saturday April 30, 2005 12:00PM

                              AT

Green Street Mortuary

649 Green Street

San Francisco, CA 94133

Dad, may you rest in peace.  You will always be remembered in our hearts and your legacy will live on forever.

Thanks Carrie...   Getting the body out of the hospital has been a major headache since the funeral home next to the BofA where you work couldn't get the body on Friday April 22, 2005 as the hospital thought it was on coroners hold even though the physician had authorized the release when we ran into both the son/daughter team on Thursday April 21, 2005.  On early Sunday morning at around 3AM, I was looking at the funeral home contract and then tried to do an online search when I noticed we've been ripped off bigtime on the casket by 200+% so we were planning to goto the funeral home to straighten it out when the hospital called wondering why the body is still at the hospital's morgue.  Then we literally spent the entire day at the funeral home from 9am to 6pm and felt really bad about having my auntie and her family from Oakland/East Bay waiting for us twice during that day.  The funeral home even though it was part of a corportation of 2000 funeral homes and 400 cemetaries was such a joke that it took them 8 hours next to us to calculate the total of about just 8 or so amounts.  They matched the price on the casket from $5295 + tax to the $2595 including tax price but they raised the service charges 200% as they claimed we didn't do the package even though the original package wasn't part of the package either so the $1624 discount didn't apply as we had to itemized the things.   What was funny was you know how chinese don't like the number 4 so I was trying to tell them to raise the price of the casket by $1.00 and they said they had to match exact pricing and can't even go above it.  This is the first time I heard anyone refuse money.   But we ended up at the end talking about various things and both of us gained a lot of knowledge on other things.   We were basically talking to the Funeral/Managing Director and I never mentioned my name or my father's name and he figured it out on his own.  The other thing was the arranger didn't disclose what embalming was and claimed we authorized it which is illegal under California law according to the State of California disclosure booklet.  This was the last place I would think that would be dishonest but I was shocked when I saw the following URL:

http://www.dca.ca.gov/press_releases/20021126.htm

I got the newspaper taken care of.  SingTao Daily said that they have never done a picture before for obituaries.   I'm glad that I have friends because I didn't have any pictures of my dad recently and basically we had to use a picture taken by my brother in law when my sister got married which has my dad, myself, my mom and my sister in it and then had my friend who in landscape architecture that designed the Disney Stores in San Francisco redo the picture I scanned and then used a new background.  We had to goto BofA a few times too to change money into different types of bills and coins and even though one time I was next to your branch on Friday as that's the first time we visited the funeral home, I didn't want to bother you since I remember that I can't go and see someone else but it's fine if you visited me.
